Problem is, Red's chips seem to run real rich, negating the effect of the larger injectors.

Check the needle spring, but I would not rule out the sender. I wouldn't go adding unnecessary gauges to the car when you can fix a stock one and keep a clean looking interior. I know a guy who has gauge clusters in Levittown if you need one.

Not difficult. But instead of hacking up the car, why don't you just grab the original stuff from a donor car.

Mine has a similar problem. All I do is rotate the column back and forth a little bit. It doesn't move much, but it's enough to allow the key to turn.
