Hey Ed! I wish I could help you as you've helped me in the past, but I've never done front control arms. (Now if you were doing rears....:) Best of luck to you! See you at the Nats! Kristi

Can a front cam bearing be removed and replaced without taking the motor out of the car? If so, what special tools are required? Thanks! Kristi

    Killed Story

A few weeks ago, Kristi and I were driving to the World of Wheels car show to get a winter hot rod fix. A friend of ours, who was following us to the convention center, was driving his 6-speed 2001 WS6 Trans Am. His car benefits from a stout camshaft, fully-ported heads, headers, and big pipes...

    Need Help with Electrical Problem

It looks like we may have a problem with our voltmeter. (It figures) We are going to re-run the tests as soon as possible, and will let you know what we find. Once again, Steve, we really appreciate your help on this. Kristi

    is this a good combo

I would recommend using the 200r4 over the 700r4. The first gear in the 700r4 is too deep, especially with 3.73s. The car will be severely traction limited in first gear, and the gear split between first and second gear is too great for good quarter mile performance. I agree with the...

    Need Help with Electrical Problem

Steve...Please Help! Here's the latest...We (again) visually verified the battery ground to the turbo bracket (new battery cable), the battery ground to the fender, and the firewall ground. These grounds are clean and tight. With the key in the run position, we probed the TPS: Probing the...

    Lower Ctrl Arm Removal

The forward LCA bolt is accessible using an extension and an 18mm socket, as mentioned above. In rare cases, the exhaust may need to be loosened to allow access to the inside bolt near the muffler.

    Need Help with Electrical Problem

We have not had a chance until today to try to determine the problem as the weather has not been very cooperative. We checked the major grounds at the back of the passenger side cylinder head today (hoping that we'd missed one), but they were all attached. We did check the battery...

    Need Help with Electrical Problem

We just installed a brand new engine in our 1986 T-Type. Since the installation, the ECM does not read the TPS sensor as it changes (Scanmaster displays idle setting of .42, even at WOT - engine off), the O2 sensor is lazy and generally reads lean at idle and cruise, and O2 cross counts are...

Email me if you want a Carfax Report

I have purchased a 30 day unlimited CARFAX account. I will be happy to run any VINs sent to me until my account runs out. E-mail your VIN to me, and I'll respond as soon as possible. I will not be monitoring this post, so make sure you contact me via e-mail. I can't promise I'll be able to...

    TV cable or govenor

Not a Tranny Expert But... My understanding is that the governor controls WOT upshifts. If you have issues with part throttle upshifts occurring late (or not at all), I'd look at the TV cable and then the valve body. If it is a WOT issue, a governor failure is a fairly simply repair. Alan...

SSM South Side Machine Lift Bars

I would suggest using lower control arms with polyurethane bushings at both mounting points, especially for a car that will see 90% street use as you've stated. The poly bushing offers many advantages over the steel bushings used in the SSM bar, including the preservation of the frame mounting...
