quite a few people have done this swap, most notably john bzdel. search him and you will find it. I myself have an lt1 and t56 in my 86 regal limited. love it.

Not sure if this helps but i removed the bumperettes and filed the holes square, polished the caps of some stainless carriage bolts with a da sander and then a buffer wheel and stainless paste, and bolted them in place. Doesn't look out of place because some cars and trucks had carriage bolts...

one thing to keep in mind is whether or not you want to keep the a/c in the car. i decided to so i used the rear motor plate bosses on the block and drilled new holes in the front crossmember i believe 1 inch back and it all bolted down after heating up the frame where the pulley hit and banged...
