Accel DFI Gen 7 Programming Question

Just enable Stage 1 Nitrous and set the orifice size and/or number of orifices to 0. That prevents the ECM from adding any automated enrichment. Now you can use the Dual Mapping Air:Fuel ratio table for your A/F targeting, and the Ignition Trim function for timing adjustments (+/- 32...

    Just don't get it!!!

DO NOT run the car on that ECM. Don't waste any more time trying to debug it, just send it back in. F'ING RIDICULOUS. $^%#&$@%$!!!! Sorry.

    Just don't get it!!!

Open the software, connect to the ECM with Key on, engine off. Go to the Help menu and select "about..." What version of CalMap and ECM are listed on the bottom right of the screen? If it says the ecm is version 4.0, then you'll need to send it back to be updated PROPERLY  . By...

    Hopeful closure...

v5.0 Upgrade Info You'll need to resend your calibration file to the ECM using the version 5 software. Then verify that all the new tables and settings that you didn't have before are filled in with reasonable values and enabled or disabled as appropriate. PM sent also.

    NEED BIGTIME help...

Disconnect the injector harness, and try connecting to the ECM with CalMap. The ECM probably won't communicate when you are seeing the problem. If so, that is a very key piece of information, and points toward the key-on injectors wide open issue being caused by an electronic component on...

    Strange pArk to idle condition...

5 - 6% out of gear. To check if AE is the problem, do the following: With the engine running, open up CalMap and connect to the ECM. Press the F12 key to view the Acceleration Threshold table. Watch the screen as you drop it into gear. You will be getting Acceleration Enrichment if...

    Strange pArk to idle condition...

Sounds like IAC. Your counts should be around 5-6% @ warm idle. If that doesn't do it, the ECM has a secondary idle control strategy that can be tied to the Self-Test input (STI). You can wire that input to a park/neutral type of switch that can be activated on the gear shift to compensate...

    Gen 7 tuning question

You need to hook the innovate sensor signal to pin B of the DFI HEGO connector, and the sensor signal return wire to pin A of the DFI HEGO connector. You can pick up power and ground from the place; pin D is switched ignition and C is ground. Press CTRL-F1 in the CalMap software and check out...

    Weird RPM spike DFI 7

It's a display-only problem with the data sent from the ECM to your PC. It only happens when logging data, and does not affect the physical operation of the ECM in any way. If it annoys you enough, call the DFI tech line @ 248 380 2780 and they'll take care of it for you.

DFI GEN 6 support for repairs

If norbs can't fix them, let it be clearly known that ACCEL/DFI is still supporting the Gen 6 product. There is a minimum charge of $200 for each ECU which includes the first hour of labor and any repair parts needed. In most cases, that will cover the cost of the repair completely. Some of...

    Gen7 log...RPM related....

Separate the DFI and MSD boxes IMMEDIATELY and try a different ignition box if you can get your hands another unit. One sign of a bad (or soon to be bad) MSD box is that it sprays electromagnetic noise all over the place. I have seen the noise from a failing MSD be extreme enough to...

    Gen7 log...RPM related....

That's a great point. However, the ECM will report whatever it's programmed to do as far as the timing goes... It is seeing the RPMs changing, so it will change the timing as programmed. You'd have to be measuring the actual timing at the balancer to see if it's still tracking the programmed...
