Just got my Precision turbo and I lost power

Whoever told you that, stay far away from.

Imop I would have kept that turbo but to each their own

I sold the turbo already. Way to much money for all that. I couldn't swing it. Plus I hear that once you change the converter you start having trans issues??

Well there is some truth to that .. regardless of what everyone is going to say ...

If you kept the turbo , updated the setup to run E85 , matched the convertor to that entire setup and harnessed the potential of the entire combination .... then whoever told you that you will have trans problems is 100% correct .... because the car will make enough power to hurt a stock trans EASILY !

Now if the trans is built to hold .. then the convertor will only optimize the turbo / added power and will significantly improve performance overall and has no impact on the trans longevity.

you were asking that turbo to run in an area (15-16 psi) that it has no business being in .

Be careful who you are asking advice from as If they aren't a true buick guy that understands these cars then the advice you get will just create lack luster performance results for you.
Proven well thought out combinations are key to making these cars perform .. NOT just throwing on parts

Okay so I got rid of that turbo and want to buy a stock location Intercooler.. Was looking at the PTE and the GN1.... For my setup which one will work for me?? Here's what's done to the car..
TA49
42.5 injectors
Power plate
Fuel pump+hot wire
TT chip and scanmaster
3" downpipe and Full exhaust

A dutt neck will be more then enough for your current setup
So going with GN1 is same if not better right? Only because I don't wanna cut the stock cooler. And I'm guessing the PTE is overkill and probably won't work at all for my set up. I'm only going to be running 18lbs. I forgot to mention the ALKY is on the way!!

If your gonna run a ALKYCONTROL KIT .. don't bother upgrading your stock intercooler with the mods you have.. the AlkyControl Kit will wake it up and I would run 21 PSi with Alky

Just keep your eyes out for a stock intercooler that's already got a dutt neck on it. At 18 lbs you might as well have left the stock turbo on. The TA49 comes alive at 22 or so.

Like others said,it's all about the combo, money, then some more money, then the rest of the money you have. I promise it will run like a scalded cat. Mine does

I thought the bigger IC would at least give me a fast spool no? There's really nothing to gain? If I do get it it's probably gonna be GN1 2-1/2 inlet and outlet IC. I was thinking that and the alky should be enough.

with the ALKY .. wont give you squat .. the ALKY is the most bang for the buck you will get

Lmaoooo that's funny.

All kidding aside I would like to upgrade the heads and trans and keep the 49. I'm thinking that setup would be badass no?

You sir need to do some searching. What do you want out of this car? With the turbo you just sold, heads, converter, trans, alky, intercooler and a few other small things you could have had a awsome setup but it sounded like you didn't want to spend all this money. You keep jumping all around on what you want.

So my question to you is, what is your goals for this car?

To much money but your thinking intercooler, heads, trans, etc?

As much as possible its always good to have a goal to shoot for. Having one will help keep you from buying parts that you may soon outgrow and save you money by not buying parts that you may not need, like heads...

Not at 18lbs.
Just when you think you got these motors figured out. Well I'm listen this time.. When I got the turbo it was a big let down and not to mention a 1000 mistake!! I don't wanna make again. I u guys are saying it won't do squat than that's that. Thank you.

No no no.. If I had the money. That would be my next upgrades. But that alone could easily run me upwards of 5G
