Fastest TTA Thread (2014)

What rear you runnin? And what gear?
I'm using a Dana 44. It had 3.31 gears before, but its got 3.55's now. The 3.31 is too tall for a 28" tire, at least on my car.

I'd consider my car a long way from being "new tech" the only aftermarket engine parts are the pistons and camshaft. Ran 10.3 on an "old school" cast wheel CPT66. Still has stock rockers and valves. Stock throttle body/doghouse. Stock crank/rods. Stock ecm. Stock location IC. 200-4r. Stock k-member/ control arms, no fiberglass parts. I don't think I used any parts that weren't around 10-15 years ago, or were factory stuff.

I wanted to start a thread about the fastest TTA's of 2014.
This year looks very interesting for records to be broken with our cars. Seems like lots of members are dialing in their cars for this season.
Since the race season is starting very soon, I think its a good idea to see what everyone's goals are.

I am certainly going to try catching JD's and turbows6's10.30 passes this season. I plan to have video of in-car and outside to show times.
I take this all in fun and I hope to have some great competition this year.
Me too

Interesting, as I am swapping to 2.73's myself. Then again I am running a different engine in my turbo TA...

Where do you/did you race?

Take my advise and get a taller tire. The linear traction and gear reduction kill two birds with one stone. This will prevent you from going into OD at the track and way more fun on the street. I would spin my M/t DR's for 100ft peddling it before I hooked up.

Fastest TTA, with what other stipulations? I'm assuming Buick V6 engine. Does a stage engine count? I have a customer (Mewshaw) running 4.21 in the 1/8 in RVW class with a 90 Trans Am twin turbo BBC setup. I think the fastest original 89 pacecar TTA belongs to the Chrisafulli brothers. They have run in the 6's with a twin turbo BBC

We are talking 3.8 Buick powered TTA's for the most part..4.1 and Stage motors get an honorable mention ;)
Crisafulli brothers run a twin turbo 670 billet ProLine engine making over 3,000 hp...it is not a BBC and has no interchangeable parts with one. Same motor Lynch ran in his Vette. Been to Steve and Rob's house/shop many times :)

Oh ok. I thought that was the motor in the corvette. I'll probably see them again at the next rvw event

My stocker is running 8.52 in the 1/8 th with street tires does that make me the fastest for now?

I think that was at only 19/20 psi pf boost pressure during that dyno session....

Sorry, meant track times. Know of any numbers in the 1/8 or 1/4? Seems like most of the faster ones are right around the low ten/high nine area, mostly in the tens. Don't know of anybody currently or recently doing low-mid 9's or any quicker with a 3.8?

I don't want this thread to get off topic or into a debate, so I'm looking at true TTA's with 109,SG1 blocks. Heads and stage 2 would be other categories that I am including.

I'm looking to group each TTA in different categories like mentioned in the updated TTA list thread. Collectively, we can get this done and start updating that "old" list while having some friendly competition.

I wish I would've went with a 44 instead of my 9"!

Would be Steve Kaminski then, no...?

Steve's car... yes, it is basically a black TTA, motor and drive train is the same with Steve's own intake and head porting, etc. If you haven't seen Steve's head porting you are missing out... absolutely beautiful work!
