A friend (from SC) called me this morning to find out what the value would be on a GNX thats sitting behind a body shop adjacent to where he works. He never knew it was there because its been under a tarp the whole time. After the wind blew the tarp away he realized what it was and that it was victim to a FIRE! He's not sure what number it is, but I'm sure the only thing salvageable is the drivetrain and suspension. He was thinking that he could get it and restore it, but I'm not so sure that the body is salvageable after being partially burned. I will post some of the pics he sent to me later since I can't post them from work.

Subscribed. Sounds interesting. Even if some of the parts aren't salvageable, you could come close. It wouldn't be 100% real, but wouldn't be 100% clone either. I think it'd still be worth it. A guy wouldn't feel so bad about driving it so much then. Post up pics and the # if you can. Needs to at least be put in the registry as alive.

I told him based on whats left that it woundn't be worth more than 3000-5000 dollars based on the going rate of parts between the engine, transmission and rear suspention. I'm sure the wiring is toast as well. If I still lived out there, I'd take a stab at it myself...because as you said, it would be nice to have one even if it had to be resurrected.

$3000.00- $5000.00 , this thing must be burned really bad. Any pics?

3000 - 5000 ???????

IF its a verifiable GNX with a Good Vin and some of the body is still there.

a stripped to the bone empty shell is worth more then that.

i love this "it isn't worth much" but then they bang on your door every day trying to steel oops i meant buy your stuff.

Good luck and post up some pictures

we had a GNX burner here back in the late 90s from what I remember.. It was a crispy critter.. rear suspension was still there. That was about it..

I have pics, but they are from behind a chainlength fence. They are clear enough to see that its a GNX (I can see wheels, rear girdle, and fender vents/flares), but the only visible damage from the pics is the following...

Nose piece completely burned away, tail lights melted, rear glass gone, paint around back/qtr glass scorched and rusty, my contact says the drivers side fender flairs are gone, hood appears to be bare metal. Based on this it's probably cooked from bumper to bumper. He says the wheels apprear to be alright.

Easy fix. That'll all buff out. ;)

From those pics, I would def say it is fixable. Could have just been an interior fire or electrical fire or combination of a few of those. Someone better save it!!!

Would be nice to recreate that car.......Put the motor, trans, turbo, rear back together

My contact isn't even sure if its for sale. It doesn' t look like that cars been sitting that long so maybe it's going to be fixed. I think that place is a body shop. I would love to have it as a daily as well. My contact was courious so he would know what a good starting offer would be on it, but I don't think owning a LS6 Corvette means he's ready to takle a project of this magnitude.

Is it for sale?
Any contact information?
Would make a great driver!

I assume this is the same one that was on Craigslist in Charleston a couple months ago. It was more than I wanted to try and tackle.

Wow, looks like it was in a garage fire. Definitely one to save.

Everything is fixable, looks like its a solid start for someone with an interior and some extra parts,is it a real GNX???

I assume you are correct since the same pile of junk is on one side on the red trailer is on the other.
