Mike Bamfords DLS powered turbo LSx project

We pulled the LS2 last week and Kurt Urban is going to be going through it putting on a killer set of heads and some improvements to the block for this year. Time to turn up the boost some more and get a PTC converter in there!!!

going that same road . that a nice setup .when im ready you'll be getting a PM Ted:biggrin:..that would be soon..

Was the motor hurt or is he just updating it?

Dennis

PS What is he doing with heads that where on it?

From what I was told there was something going on in the bottom end, sounded like a rod bearing. I know he is interested in selling the heads last I talked to him. Not sure what he wants for them. Dan spent over 3k into the L92 heads.

No prob. You got a great engine guy down the street from you. I'd love to see what Bobby can put together.

Thanx ted, picking up motor next week. I will pm you my phone so you could help me with the set up and parts imfo.;) PS bobby is happy that im going that route..

Can someone built me another set of those headers for me and maybe Miguel too since he going down the same road .

E85 conversion underway

Here is another picture. We were busy last night working down at the shop getting some more of the plumbing done. I am bringing the Bigstuff 3 by and we are going to get to work wiring it and hope to have it fired up soon. We were impressed that the turbo meets the stock orientation rules for TSO, now we need to see if we can get through tech. ;) We are not figuring we will have much of a problem as we have 2 extra cylinders as a handicap

Do you guys mind sharing which car the accessories came from? Would like the power steering mounted high like that. Did you guys make custom power steering hoses?

It is a Corvette front accessory drive. The power steering lines need to be custom made.

Glad to see you making the switch to LS power. You won't be disappointed..

Ok on those SBF headers, they cut the flanges off but did they cut into the tubes a little bit as well? It looks like it, plus that would make sense doing so since the Ford tube is shaped like a rectangle and the LS1 flanges are for the round shaped LS1 exhaust port.

Also, what type of piping is used for the cold air pressure pipes? I assume aluminum piping and you guys are TIG welding it, right?

This build thread and pics are a lot of help.

The header tubes were cut and rounded off. The factory Ford end was cut off and reworked. The cold side piping is 3" AL and Tigged.
