Dear Valued Customers,

It is with great pleasure that we are proud to announce, the release of our newest product, the PW46 external wastegate. These units feature a 46mm valve, and can be used in a wide variety of applications. They can be used in any kit or setup that currently utilizes a v-band style 44mm gate, (Tial, Turbosmart, etc) but will work best with the supplied inlet flange (the inside diameter of our flange is slightly larger than our competitors). The wastegates will be shipped with all the necessary hardware (flanges, clamps, springs, etc), and can accommodate a wide range of boost pressures (anywhere from 1.5PSI up to 25.5PSI). All units feature a black anodized billet aluminum wastegate cap, and a Kevlar reinforced silicone diaphragm. In addition, the unit features a five angle valve job, as well as five high temp 17-7 ph springs (more durable and can withstand higher temperatures before changing rate). Lastly, the PW46 is set up for a 1 3/4" pipe on the discharge side, and a 1 7/8" pipe on the inlet.

I'm wondering the same thing. But they are 2mm bigger, are cheaper, and have the Precision name on it so it should work. I'm glad this came along, I was trying to justify spending $500 on a Turbosmart 50MM but just cant do it. I just ordered one.

wish they had came out earlyer. i would have bought this one instead of my tial gate. it comes with all 5 springs? what pressure are they?

How do these compare with the Tials?

The new PW46 external wastegate, surpasses the flow capabilities of our competitors wastegates.

There are 5 springs that come with each wastegate. Each wastegate will have the 9 psi Green spring already installed.
The 5 springs are:

Small inner "Natural" color = 1.5 psi
Medium outer "Yellow" color = 3 psi
Medium outer "Red" color = 6 psi
Large outer "Green" color = 9 psi
Large outer "Blue" color = 18psi

These springs are specific to the Precision wastegate and are not compatible with other competitors wastegates. Mixing and matching the springs, will yield different spring rate levels, ranging from 1.5 psi, up to 25.5 psi.
This new wastegate is impressive to say the least.
Let us know if we can help.

tial has a 38, 40, 44, 46, and 60mm. how does this new 46mm precision unit compare to tial's 46mm unit?

I have read many different forums post on this but none have included any performance differences between tial and precision, its all be hersay and opinion. any thoughts patrick or tialsport?

Why did Precision go with banjo bolts for the fittings? Most like to screw their fittings directly into the wastegate; ie AMS sensor. And how would one use those quick push line fittings? Tap the top of the wastegate.

IMHO should've went with a female 1/8NPT.

But I like the clamps.

Wastegates were just released for sale to the public yesterday.
The Tial 46 has a very specific 4 bolt flange configuration where as our PW46 wastegate uses V-band flange configurations. That F46 looks like it was specifically designed for Turbo Porsche applications, according to their website.

The thread size for the pressure ports are M10x1.0.

I had to make a "banjo adapters" to take care of the problem you described. Maybe Precision should offer this with the gate....

I spoke with our engineer about this, this morning. A 1/8" NPT fitting will screw right into the M10x1.0 threads for the banjo bolts. 1mm pitch is 0.0393 thread pitch and 27 threads per inch on an 1/8-27NPT is 0.0370. You should have no problems adapting the many different styles of fittings to our wastegate.
Hope this helps.

Real nice and great price, one thing i dont like is the banjo fittings, would still rather the ability to use pipe fittings than just push on hose, guess it can be tapped out though

Just got mine. I know quality when I see it. It's niiiiiice. The Banjo fittings don't bother me. No different than any other vacuum line fittings I have pushed and zip tied on. But I will make some banjo fittings that are PTC anyway.

I've put 1/8"npt fittings into the Tial wastegates without any issues. Should be the same with these.

We'll probably try one of these one the next downpipe someone orders from us. Makes the package a lot more affordable.

Patrick, is there a HP rating on this thing. I am thinking I need to go external for better boost control. Anyway, its got to be better than an HD internal gate right?

Thanks

John

Patrick is either on his way to or at PRI, it could take him a little longer to respond.
