Sometimes you just gotta start over....

Trackside posting...... First full pass car ran 4.92 @ 138 with a 1.14 60 foot.

That's awesome......

Only problem.... is I don't have any feel for how fast that would be in the 1/4......

I know deep into the 7's.... anyway.....

Great job!

Keep the times coming!

Jay I think you have so much interest in this project that you could make videos for it and sell them on the web. Just sell a viewing of each video for 99 cents and I bet you would make your money back off the car!!!

Awesome car !!

A follow up since Im home now.

This was at 24 PSI (REALLY 24 PSI, not Buick Fantasyland 24 PSI) with the EGTs about 1050 at the end of the run. We think the motor wants more timing and it certainly wants more boost.. We probably need a slightly lighter spring in the rear, too.. We had another set but didnt change them. I think we may add some weight to the back end because there really isnt anything back there now except the battery.

So what happened on the other passes

There weren't any. They got the timers working, we made one pass, loaded up and left. That was the first full pass the car has made under power.

Sounds like it's moving out! Time to turn up the wick!

It was COLD!! I didn't think they track would hook, but they staff did a great job of prepping it. It was only like 57 degrees and windy:eek:

Car never even went into high gear:biggrin: And lost a clyinder during the run:eek: Plug got to much fuel and fouled...

I am happy as can be, first official pass and it went faster then it did in at it best before!!!!

I think we are just scratching the surface of this combo too!

I will try to get the video up in the morning!

I cant wait to get started on the Atomic GN II first of the year!! Great job guys :) I will want to see this car run in person. Keep us posted.

We made a little short blast before the lights and computer were hooked up. The second run had a shorter burnout could have led to the spining in second gear. Not sure why it did not shift into third. It put out number 1, egt went cold. It started to come back but lifted at 3.92 seconds into the run. Thats why the mph is down. The weather for the next week are so will not be good for testing. The convertor change is in the right direction, but need to get to a track with some traction to test it in high gear. 60 degrees track temperture is hard to get a hold of. We will make some adjustments and try it as soon as the weather lets us.

The cold track does make it hard. Sit in one spot while doing the burnout to help get more heat in the tires if your having trouble getting them up to temp. A rolling burnout on a cold track doesn't put much heat in the tires.
