Wish they made it in a 5 to 3.5 since way more people have a 3.5 inch exhaust vs. a 4 inch exhaust...? Looks like a quality piece tho. Just don't understand why none are available for a 3.5 inch exhaust. Seems like most will have to have it modified to fit their exhaust.

I think a better way to approach this would be to ask (and ask nicly) if DLS would allow customers to buy the peices as a kit? Just the EX. FLANGE, 5" bend, 5" to 4" pipe as a DO IT YOURSELF kit. This would allow everyone even those with a 3.5" DP to make their own new 5"MonsterDP, using DLS supplied pipes(DLS could even include a bage or ingrave their logo welded on one of the pipes, that would look cool and let everyone know what time it is!). A 4" to 3.5" reducer is readily available online. PLus tigging 3 complete welds for a 5"MonsterDP to 3.5"DP or only 2 complete welds for a 5"MonsterDP to 3", that is already mocked up, wouldn't be expensive at all, and probably should only take 1 hour! If I didn't already have my 3.5" and I had my stock one, this would be the 1 2 buy. Very nice peice DLS!

This is a copy of my down pipe flange and elbow. looks like the DP that Phill bought from me over one year ago went straight to china.

if you look at the last picture, it looks like a picture of the pipe in china with the RJC that phil bought from me. the other pictures have a different copied flange that looks cast.

You wonder why no one wants to inovate stuff for our buicks anymore.

here is a prototype of a 5-4" DP that fits with all headers even ATR that we are about one month away from having production units on. I better put a halt on production of ours. Can't compete with china having everything made here in USA.

I have the RJC unit that goes from 5" to 4" to 3.5" where the kitty cat is supposed to be.

Mine isn't as pretty as either of the ones above, but it works like hell. Spool up is solid and quick. I do not have a spike either.

I would say it is almost identical to having a straight dump - but it goes through the entire exhaust system :biggrin:

i dont think phil would rob your design and send it to china for copying.hes not selling them where is the insentive?that pipe isnt crap to make and that little flang doesnt look to tough either. i would think any machine shop could make it off a picture and a turbo the fit it to.i dont know if i would be so quick to point fingers at people that run your stuff jason.its not his fault they beat ya to it .now with that said beat them to the external wastegate version and the ls1 deal we talked about

man that is a jerky thing to say. ya the flange thingy seems easy to make. Especially from when viewed by someone that has probably never had an idea, designed and made anything.

i know it always seems no one is to blame.

Definitely discouraging though.

It just sucks that's all. The sad part is i probably would have worked something out with them but it is much easier to copy.

Ugh, I knew what was gonna happen when I saw this thread. I ain't taken sides, I like dealing with Dan and Jason.

But from what I know, Phil just bought the elbow and made the rest. And turned it over to someone else.

NOW, what the difference between this and everyone and they're dog making and selling TH style downpipes and flanges is..... I dunno.

i didnt mean to say it was easy but a descent machine shop should be able to make it.i didnt mean any disrespct jason and i like your products.i just dont think phil sent your stuff to someone else to copy.i know it sucks for someone to copy some thing you spent your time to make.agian sorry if ya took what i said wrong i was just trying to get across that if one man can make it another can also it doesnt mean phil is to blame
