Sounds like you are trying to swap the servo and its apply pin (right things). There may still be an ancient post on the board where Chris outlined how to line up the band and get things back together. IIRC it involved a (long thin?) screwdriver. I've never done it, just read the board...

OG valve body isn't recommended for performance: See "Cruiser77" posts on fighting to make one work right. I'd check with CK performance/ Brian/ Jake for a good valve body, shift kit and servo. They'll have other suggestions- depends on your application.

Evidently it depends on how far and perhaps how fast you are going to tow. There is a post on this board somewhere by a fellow towing basically North to South across the country; something went dry, seized up, and IIRC broke the case. No tranny lube while towing.
