West Coast Nationals (Las Vegas)

All we have to do is convince the Big Fish (Kerney) to stay with us at the host hotel and we would be sitting pretty with the hotel. lol

A room that did not smell, not hearing police sirens all night and all the gansters that hung around the 7-11 all the time.

So basically it was too much like home in phoenix.... :D Sorry to be an ass... :D

I'm sure it's very nice, I was talking about sirens and gangsters.... :D
Is there going to be another raffle this year? Last time no one knew when it was to be held and I missed out. Maybe I'll donate a stage block or something... :D

I just spoke with one of the Supra organizers. The Supras are anxious to see the Buicks run. We're hoping to strike a deal for some Buick vs. Supra racing? CC looks to be in, any other takers?

Saad Saad from Phoenix is one of the Supra organizers for this event. Looks like we'll be having some headsup matches with the Supras in Vegas. Be prepared. This is Saad's run on motor only. He's got a 300 shot nitrous system not used in this run. He will likely be the first six speed Supra to run an 8 second quarter mile.

Well i'll be there, since I do live in vegas..

Now on to the hotel situation..

I can get EVERYONE who needs a room situated, my sister is reservation manager for Coast Casino, and i'm talking rooms from 40$ at the Orleans, to 70$ a night on the strip at the barbary coast. This can be done ANY time, just PM me with your personal info, and a # i can call you at, and I'll start talking to her about setting aside some rooms..

This is for people that have either missed the room deadlines or for whatever reason want to stay at the orlean/goldcoast/barbary/suncoast..

Anyone wants more details send me a PM

Will

Will, thank you! I advise people to take the Orleans path, IF you have a trailer and don't "need" to stay right on the Strip. I installed thermostats in The Orleans about 8 years ago. They are nice rooms, and is definitely a clean hotel; I would be shocked if anyone would complain about this place. (Some will be upset about how far from the track it is. It would be almost the same distance as what Silverton is).

Will, I'm going to let Craig know that you have an in with them, and see if we can get something set up (if needed).

Night time

Wow, that is really going to suck from a spectator point of view, especially with the limited lighting in the parking lot. Hopefully the track is lit better with sunset being at 6:05. Might have to take a pass for the first time in 3 years. Hopefully next year, the scheduling will be done soon enough to get back to the daytime slot it has always been.

vegas is very well lite at night. night time racing is much better in the months that the sun is hot in the day. i hope it will always be at night. it will also be easier on the people that come from cooler places. also we can stay for the fri. night racing and still get some sleep for sat. night. should be some great racing with the supra's

i know a few cars that can hold their own. :)

uh, yeah...I know one GN from Phoenix that will put "the world's fastest 6 speed Supra" on the trailer with no problem.... :D

it'll be in Vegas along with his slow car......

Would that be dick's full blown race car? :) I love my gn's,(look at the fortune I spend on them), but supras are pretty bad, probably the only "import" I would like to own. :)

uumm....yeah it would be.....I expect some low 8's out of it.......we were at his house last nite and fired the thing up...scared the neighbors

I think you'll see a few Supras run 135+ and lose to your basic 10 sec GN ( if I was Saad, I'd be embarrased with a 1.47 60'....imagine if those things could hook....)

Woody,

I agree with you about most of the supras, but do you know about the 7.9 on drag radials guy? He would embarass MANY Buick Chassis Cars.

oh yeah.......there is always a fast one out there for sure! But one that can launch is semi rare, I think.......I've seen my share of 140 mph 10.8 Supras
