VETS... its that time of year again

USAF Power Pro/Aircraft Arresting Systems SSgt 95-02 out 2 months and hired right back doing the same thing as DOD civil service been doing it every since and my last day with the Air Force is tommorow then over to the FAA:).

Thanx to all that have served and are serving.

All gave some and some gave all!

Definitely....an important topic.

My father-in-law who has since passed away was in Pearl Harbor that fateful Dec 7th morning and witnessed the enemy air craft flying low overhead. His future wife lived in Hawaii at the time and her neighbor was killed as the planes went by.

My mother in law has kept all these years an actual piece of one of the Japanese planes which I now have.

My Dad served in the Navy right out of high school 1943 as a dental technician. It was and has always been said that war was supposed to be the war to end all wars....course that was not meant to be.

I served in the Army 1966-69 including a one year stint in Vietnam....17th Aviation Group as the editor of the newspaper and 17th Aviation Group photographer. Now we buy sneakers made in Vietnam.

Is important to remember all of those that have served our country. Its important the kids today in school are taught the horrors of war so they don't repeat the tragedites war brings.

My father was part of the Bulge Dennis. He never talked about it but found out after he died. Did a search for his unit and he was in the worst of it. He was the manager of a coal mine that was a NAZI camp after the liberation. He seldom talked about it unless he was drunk. I have an idea why now.:frown: I lost many friends due to some other issues in Texas but I wont say much more than that.:(

God bless those of us that have spent time working to make the world safe.:biggrin:
