Never in myself but my dad was in the Navy. He went in right after WWII started and served on Destroyers from 1942 till the mid 60's. Served in Korea too. He had been around the world a lot of times. He had already retired and started his second career with the Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources as a State Park Supt. before I was born in '67. As a kid we always had to get him to tell us a "Navy Story" instead of a bedtime story! Sadly I lost him to a heart attack in June of this year and we are losing WWII vets at a very high rate due to age. The military keeps us the "Land of the free".
Thanks to all military personal!
RIP
