I was curious about the transfer rate. When I had PTE burn the new chips they ask what scan tool I was using. I said SMII so they change the rate. Does this also relate to turbolink? How many frames can I expect to see with this upgrade?

http://www.turbo-link.com/tlink/scanchart.html Rate is the same. Believe it has to do with the fact that they recieve info through the ALDL. Only scantool listed that is different is Directscan which hooks directly to the ECM.

But listed in the data display it list Scanmaster "fast" Data streams. How many more frames are available compared to stock?

TurboLink supports the "fast" data rate as well ... you choose it in the special hardware preferences.

It's a very clever scheme that Bob Bailey devised to send certain data elements multiple times in a single frame. The transmission rate is the same, but the repeated elements are updated more frequently.
