Trans or converter?

Car started acting weird this morning. On the way to work it started stalling a lot higher than normal. Still shifts fine good and positive. Once the converter locks it pulls good. If you put to much load on it it will shudder before it unlocks. And it has a slight ticking when in gear. It is a old old tci from 10 years ago.

See if you can crawl underneath an see where ticking is coming from.If its a lockup converter its probably converter clutch coming apart.make sure you put it on stands or lift so you can put it in gear and don't get run over. could be sprag in converter also. either way better pull it out and have it cut open because all that trash will end up in trans.

If you load the car on the brakes when you let off of them with it loaded there is a thunk with a hesitation then you start moving. It doesn't do the thunk without loading it.
