Do the TTA's have a nylon gear like the GN's or did GM get it right and install steel gears ? Thanks, Nicholas.......

Pulled mine out of a original 14k mile and was surprised to find all the nylon teeth still there! They were kinda brittle feeling though and maybe not long for this world.

Mine came out @ 36K miles and had all the teeth, but had several cracks in the nylon. Swaped it for an all steal stock replacement chain (bout $13) for added piece of mind.

My timing gear was destroyed at about 90K miles. When it came out, it only had one tooth remaining and the chain had ground through the nylon and chewed up the aluminum underneath the nylon. I wonder how many teeth I had been running on before it went, since performance had been pretty poor before that..... Best to get a new one before you get stranded out in BFE Kansas on your birthday like I did !
