Timing chain cover ?'s

What is the benifit of replacing my cover with an aftermarket one? Do the originals wear bad? Or is it just as good to get the HV pump kit and reuse my stock cover?

I will be replacing my cam soon and want to know if I should go ahead and do the whole cover. How is the Elgin cover?
