TA49..whats the diff?

whats the visible difference between a TA-49 and a stock turbo. Are there any? I was told that my turbo was replaced, not sure if it is the stocker or bigger. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I can tell it is stock "appearing", but don't know if it is indeed stock. how can I tell?

Both the turbine and compressor wheels are larger on a TA49. Here are some pictures:

ok, haven't taken off the maf pipe yet to look at the blades...but I was wondering if the stamp on the turbo outlet was different from stock turbo to TA49????
myne says 60..and I think I saw the stock turbo says 40 or something like that. But I also noticed that the inlet bell has the provision for valve cover vent tube(not hooked up by the way)....so do I need to get a new inlet bell?? or is the one I have fine. Will the stocker work with the TA49 if it is indeed a TA49??

You have to port a stock inlet bell to work properly with a TA49.

If your's isn't ported inside, your turbo is stock.

As far as external markings go, my Stock turbo has all the same external markings as my TA49. No difference.
