T top gaskets

Looking for advice on replacing t top gaskets. Scraped out the old one on drivers side and test fitted the new gasket. It fit great except for the section along the windshield. The gasket is way to wide there. I trimmed and fought with it and finally got it in, but there’s no way I could glue it down fighting it. Is there a better method? Bought the gaskets from Mikes Montes. Thought it could be the gaskets,so bought another set from Kirban’s. Exact same gasket. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, that’s the article I used for direction. I do have them in, I guess that might be as good as they get. I would love to find some GM gaskets, but I know the chances are slim.
