Speed Sensor/Cable

My check engine light cam on and checked my scanmaster and it showed the code for the speed sensor/cable. I do have the cable disconnected [their is a reason,long story] but my question is, will it effect the way the car will run or hurt anything until I can get it repaired?

When you order a chip from Turbotweak, he specifically asks if the speedo is reading accurately (within +/- 5mph).. so yeah, if the chip is burned for a car with a working speedo, it won't run correctly without it.

FWIW, Eric CAN make a chip that works without speedo inputs, but you need to request it. I've gotten a few from him already and they work great.
