small vs big compressor cover

If you take the same wheels and put them in a 3" inlet 2" outlet vs a 4" inlet 2.5" outlet would there be any real horsepower gains. This would be a 70mm compressor wheel and a q trim exhaust. ( The compressor cover actually has a sleave and it is a 3.5" inlet)

I think you owuld be hard pressed to get a 70 mm wheek in a 3 inch inlet housing. Not to mention it wouldn't be able to suck in enough air to make it happy.
