RUST!! HELP!!!

How would you go about fixing this? Rust hole in the floor under the seat bracket on the passenger seat bracket. Replacing the carpet as the original power master failed and leaked fluid onto the floor pans running the carpet

Rust treat it chemically, stop the rusting, reverse the damage. Any various rust treatment top and bottom, it deserves nothing less.
 
So like 30 years ago, I took a grinder into the quarter panel of my GN, and it was years of fuckery that GM didn't properly rust bond their metals, and it all went down hilll from there. All cars die because of stupidity.
 
If after cleaning all the rusted areas, if all it came to was fixing some small holes, I'd hit up a body shop and get some same gauge metal and braze it in. I took some welding classes back in the day and worked at a welding shop for a summer during high school, so brazing would be the route I would go. There might be better welding techniques these days. Wait for others to respond.
 
Being the rust is in between welded in parts, it won't be cured unless the rusty metal is removed and replaced with new.
Rust killers just convert the rust to iron oxide. It's still comprised metal.
To do it right, the replacement parts should be butt welded in. Lap welds just recreate a place for more rust.
From the pics, it may be possible to remove the flooring from under the seat mount stamping. This would depend on the condition of the underside of the seat mount.
Compromised seat mounts are not the place to shortcut.
That should be a reasonably easy repair. I'd use a replacement floor pan part and use only what's needed from it.
Parts like this are what I'd use. A floor pan section and a seat mount and you are in business.
 
So I have a nice miller mig welder and took college welding classes. Is this something I could cut out and weld in myself? Along with the chemical rust treatment like por-15
 
Kind of sad I didn’t catch this sooner. I should’ve pulled the carpet up when I bought the car. Gotta live and learn

POR 15 is crap that may/may not work.
There are others that will do the job. Rust Mort, etc. Do a search.
Here's a start.
I've done many of these on other cars, namely 55-57 Chevies.
You have the welder. I use .023 mild steel wire.
You need a spotweld cutter and some inserts, drill motor, etc.
You need some method of cutting, such as an air saw, cutoff wheel/die grinder, etc.
I have a electric 4" grinder from Harbor Frt. It's a absolute killer on sheet metal! I use the super thin wheels so the gap is very small and easier to weld shut.
Here's mine.
I'd drill out the spots on the seat bracket first and see what's under it.

If you can weld and are decent at fabrication you can absolutely handle this. Agree with Chuck. Drill out spot welds and remove seat mount bracket, then make patch or buy replacement pan. I have a tough time cutting an entire floor pan for a small rust area. Check for pin holes through out the floor.
 
Here are some pics of spot weld bit. And what it looks like using. You only trill deep enough to break the weld, try not to go through bottom layer. Then take a slap stick and break the weld by wedging between bracket and floor. Seat bracket will pop right off. This is not Turbo Buick stuff but same concept:)
