Is there a potential problem running a 3200 stall, lock-up converter unlocked while cruising?

Not really, except for some exra heat buildup, poorer gas mileage, etc.

But why would you do that. If you've got the lock up, USE IT.

That's what I thought.
I didn't have it locking due to my new felpro system which doesnt control lock-up.
I have it wired up manual now through the ALDL conn.

That's good because the extra heat TurboDave referred to is actually a bunch of extra heat and the transmission doesn't appreciate it.

yep, without lock up at all, you will in time, burn it down.....

I don't get it
A non lock up stall converter goes down the road all day long unlocked...
But you can't do this with a lock-up??
Are the converters that much diff besides the clutch??

When installing a non lock up converter, the pump is modified to reroute fluid usually keeping the lock up clutch off back to your cooler system.
