if its in good shape
hotairs used the same 8.5 rears as the intercooled cars , same 3.42 gears

a good posi (like the eaton) and a set of aftermarket axles will go a long way...
further than your combo

Depends on the hook, but alot of guys running 10s on stock axles...

I went ahead and added moser axles on my white limited because i didnt want to bust a 1/4 panel if one axle broke and came out.

The weak link in the Hot Air rear is the posi carrier.Assuming you have posi. The HA used the dreaded Gov-Loc and the IC cars used the Eaton carrier.

Can anyone give me some ballpark $$$ figures upgrading a hotair rear to an eaton setup?

I like your mod list . What are high rev lifters ? Are they roller lifters ? High performance fuel pump ? What's the size ? Just curious.ni just built my rear here is a parts list and some pics
