Racetronix...WTF

^^^ good answer! If you have a problem installing something, post it on this forum and we will help you sort it out.

RT is a supplier to several Buick vendors such as Cruz Performance and Full Throttle Speed. They do not specifically give support to the end user. The problem is several years back there were some board members who specifically slammed every chance they got. When someone would ask about RT then the same few folks would blast RT and tell them to go with vendor X instead. It happened many times and quite frankly RT got fed up with it. Im surprised they are continuing to do business with the Buick community over a few dumb asses..... Doesn't take long before you get a bad taste in your mouth and say you know what??? F... IT!! Everyone has issues at some point with alot of stuff....we get that. But damn, at some point its time to let shit go and when you have the same few that go on and on and on.... It creates a bad problem for everyone.

I watched this unfold back in the day and though I have no dog in this fight, I understand how RT would come to the decision they did. There were some merciless folks out there.

Maybe a board staff member like yourself could extend an olive branch to RT on behalf of the TB.com guys that want to use their stuff?

Once that is done, mention to those few Nay Sayers out there that if they keep up the bashing, they might just get what dearly departed CharlieF1 would call "a vacation"........... and then stick to your guns.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I agree with TurboTGuy, and I also have no dog in this fight but hey they make great products correct.........everyone seems to agree about that. Let bygones be bygones. Hell if Axle Rose and Slash can get back together...... lol
Always seems to be a small few that wreck things for a whole community. Too bad really. A lot of water under the bridge, and a whole new bunch of enthusiastic TR owners out there.

I think I ordered right off their site back in 2014. It was Monday afternoon. I was driving my T on Wed to Bowling Green. Ordered the harness at like 5pm on Monday, I got it the next frickin day like 10:30 am, from Canada to FL. Even amazon has never been that fast. I need to go dig up that order now...

Agreed... I monitor the feedback post regularly due to exactly what you are referring to. 5% of the people seem to create 95% of all the problems...

I field alot of customer questions through our staff. Some are technical, some are great questions and we field some GREAT suggestions as well, some are well..you know stupid. Its the cost of doing business in my mind. Does RT have a bitch about feeling picked on over a lack of customer support in this forum? Well maybe, but read my first sentence... It's his business "literally" to live or die by. In my opinion, some sort of customer support is expected and deserved by the customer. If you do a quick google search on Racetronix...... tb.com is NOT the only forum which has stated issues with support, so in my opinion....it's just the way RT decided to run his program. I wonder if RT is going to stop selling other vehicle lines like turbo buicks as well?

Not picking on the guy, just seeing things on both sides and pointing out what I see. Grand National guys are not the ONLY guys looking for solutions with his products. And it appears more that just turbo buick guys are not happy. Just food for thought!

If no support is to be offered off the website, I think no sales should exist off the website. It give the customer a false sense of security to the brand and creates confusion in my opinion.

Like I said, I have no real no dog in this hunt and I don't have any of their products on my car.

This post makes it apparent their CS pretty much sucks, which has been said many times.

I haven't used any their products to date (perhaps because of the negativity towards them) and I'm very happy with the Red's pump that feeds my fuel system, though it is running on the edge.........

I'm only interested in keeping as many people who are making parts for this dying breed of car to "keep on keepin' on".

That is all.

Is it Bashing when facts are posted not made up BS?
Businesses come and go - point is the coming and going
Racetronix -- seriously needs a public relations representative OR a main distributor to handle all sales and customer service OR Manufacture for other brands to re-label their products as - Example - Holley's new product line.
And they also need to grow thick skin and stop this feelings hurt BS.

I think RT has some of the best solutions that I've seen to date. I have one nagging problem with RT. I purchased their braided fuel line kit to go along with their sender & 450lph single with AN 8 & 6 lines. The kit is designed to package with a Fram canister filter. I think RT said they were losing money on this so they changed filters after my purchase. I registered for their web for installation instructions (routing) and the instructions were worthless. I have spent MANY hours attempting to properly package / install the fuel filter mounting bracket and filter assembly. I have dry fit and modified the bracket a number of times to achieve a safe and robust fit. I'm closer to having this completed but when you need to dry fit & fabricate as much as this modification has required, it's time to speak up. Racetronix made little to no effort to document an install sequence & to provide installation dimensions and proper photos.

I had a similar legit suggestion or question on this line set, but pertained to getting the return line fitting from regulator to keep from bottoming out against the intake. Would love to have spoken or reached someone there to share the feedback. I called FTS and spoke with them and asked their feedback, but unfortunately they had never experienced nor knew how to address the issue short of shimming up the fuel rail with washers to get adequate clearance. Since this point (12 months ago) it appears they have changed the return fitting design to 120* fitting to allow more clearance. I had no instructions in my kit as well to make reference to, followed their procedure to gain support, but unfortunately because of limited experience from the dealer, no support could be given....no fault to FTS. I really liked the line set and made due with what I had.

Again, sharing facts, not slamming the guy. Hopefully he is seeing and or observing real time instances where customers are not just bitching about the products, they have legit issues to be addressed. We are not the only group that feels this way. If the policies continue in this manner there will be other companies which will pick up the demand where the others are lacking.

I have seen it, witnessed it, am part of it. Gbodied cars are just getting warmed up with their need for quality restoration and performance items.

Notice OPGI is getting into the grand national business?? Next is classic industries. :) stay tuned!

The way I see it they have made it clear they don't offer support to our cars and that the dealer will. That basically makes them a manufacturer only, if I buy a part from a local auto parts store and there is a problem I go back to them not the manufacturer.
As a small one man business I also get calls and emails from customers looking for help, I have no problem helping but I find email is more convenient for me. Nothing worse than being in the middle of a job and fumbling for my phone.

Here's my biggest issue right now. I loved the looks of the new style filter and was looking forward to a much easier package to mount, but it was definitely not the case. The filter is much longer than the previous, and the size around with the bracket is very large. The didn't even send a long enough screw to clamp the bracket to the filter.

From Racetronix:

We have not provided direct support for TB product for the past two years.
We had too much aggravation on the TB forum about our support here and for not having phone support.
All product sales and support is via our TB dealers only!
All customers should be advised of this before they make their purchase.
If and when the climate changes on TB forum we may reconsider our position

So.. there it is.

Rick
Wow..don't forget your tissues..

as cheap as the old style filer housings are, I would buy one and use it instead. It fits perfectly.

Mounting it in the body near by may be easier.

Looks like your e-cable bracket had to be lowered to get the fuel feed cable ( to the rail) under it.
Nothing changed with the e-brake during the install.
I have an aftermarket rear brake set up. I don't remember how the original was positioned, but I didn't change anything when I installed the filter.
