P Steering pump noise!

The power steering pump is quiet until I hit WOT, then it sounds like it has no fluid, and it's full. Any ideas?

mine appears to be on that same road also but i'm just thinkin its time to change it, i'll be watchin this thread for curiosity sake though and good luck.

The 86 resevoirs were a different style and had a problem,over filling them did cure the problem,Or changing to an 87,The inlet and outlet were in different locations on the 87

Mine used to make noise till I changed out the old powersteering fluid and filled it with syn. trans. fluid (Mobil 1)
It's been quiet now for many years, might be worth a try.

1) I used a turkey baster to remove the old fluid from the resevoir
2) Then hit key to refill the resevoir somewhat, then re-empty resevoir a few times until no more fluid is pumped back in.
3) Then fill with the syn. trans fluid until full again.
Nothing to take apart this way.
