That thing looks great! Man that must be some fun right there!

I had an 84 K5 with only a 2.5" add a leaf lift for 7 years. Over time I changed out the 305 for a fairly stock 350, Had the 700R rebuilt, changed the gears from what ever ridiculous ratio they were to 410's and 32" BFG's, a little body work and new paint along with the newer 89-91 body molding, even threw a power window gate on cause mine had the manual crank rear window.....wish I could have done the front clip as well but was kinda hard to find in the junk yards in the early 90's. Obviously more of a pavement queen then a mudder but I had some fun with it and got stuck here and there.

Here's a pic of one of the worst extractions we had to do. We left the truck in about a foot of water the night before and this is what we came back to the next morning after a night of heavy rain and spring flooding. Out beyond the tree line is the Connecticut River. Oooooops:whistle: We knew it was going to be bad before we got to the truck the next day.....just don't think we figured it would be quite this bad!

Ohhh, that hurts!!.....Wonder how he explained that to the insurance company!

I understand the Ford thing as the above pic was my buddies Ford and I'm a GM guy so we go at it back and forth.

He was actually able to get that thing out by driving it! He had got so fed up with us trying to come along the thing from tree to tree that he just decided to try and start the thing....we were all thinking hydro lock but damn if that thing didn't fire right up! The worse part was me trying to wade/run through the water in chest waders in front of him while holding the chain that was attached somewhere below the front bumper....never even dawned on me to just toss it up on his hood! Needless to say I want down a few times in that cold water tripping over god knows what trying to stay ahead of him.....ahhh the good ol days! Where this pic was taken from was where we had to get the truck to....see it way back there.:ROFLMAO: To the right was turf farm fields that we couldn't go in either

Here's after we got out ....see the exhaust steam, she was running....... practically on river water though! Got it home and drained the all the fluids (not much oil mostly water in the manual trans and axle's) and she was fine....seat took a while to dry out though.

My dad has a raised 1979 blazer with a built 454 growing up, my brother has a 69 chevy on 44's.

Did he ever take the full top off?

One of my other friends had a 79 also with a 400 small block....all stock that I used when I plowed snow for him.....loved that thing even though it was a plow rig!
