One bad injector??

Would like your opinion on this new design that lets you adjust with a 7/32 Allen. The washer is not a standard size that you can buy so I had them water jet out of 304 SS. I also formed a conical shape in it like production. The retention washer allows the washer to be supports when it is loosen you can remove the sensor without fully removing the bolt.

Please give me your opinion on this and if you think this is worth making for production.

I sent a set of parts to Richard Clark's Garage for review ( My engine is not assembled ) I want to make sure everything is good. After the review I will make a final decision on production. The only issue I see as it is stainless you may need to put a little tape on the allen for the installation.

I'd probably go with a standard socket head cap screw instead of a button head. When the socket gets stripped out, you're in a world of hurt to get it out.

I actually seen that design and wanted to expand on this good idea with SS and an Allen fastener arrangement. Your design is free with a little rework. This is a little money with no rework. Thanks…… I understand your concerns .....I think a little anti seize will prevent that from happening. If I sell them I will make a note in the instructions. Thanks again as I did not think of that issue.

Button heads have very small areas of lateral contact surface area. When you couple that with the quite a few that grab random 'allen' wrenches that might fit... It's a recipe for disaster.

Back when I roadraced superbikes and GP motorcycles, I always had many many new bodywork fasteners on hand. Since fairings uses button heads, they got ruined pretty often... and I now to grab the correct T-handle for the application. (and that was steel-on-steel. No galvanic corrosion involved).

It's just the nature of the beast.

I like the idea and agree with Earl. With the stock set-up 1/4" drive extension is critical.

I haven't had good success with "lock washer". However this one does work...McMaster-Carr
