Steve, is this the car from Glastonbury?
What was leaking?

Yes sure is that car. And it was a missing bolt in the timing cover behind the harmonic balancer

Glad you found that missing bolt
Read thread #18 from earlbrown and watch for other signs since there is added option on your engine.

Thanks Gnonyx, That Pic Helped Me Find The Missing Bolt. And I Will Read It. This Is My First Turbo Buick So Im NeW To Them. Ive Always Been A Sbc Guy. Always Wanted One So I Sold My 67 Chevelle To Get one.

Congratulation on your first GN
Like myself many years ago, I read a lot and ask many, many questions
Start creating a library folder and download all that pertains to the GN, if you find info on the web, convert them into PDF files since sometimes web info disappear, or if the info changes to something different then what you want it to be.
Here are some info sites:
http://www.gnttype.org/maint/basics.html
http://www.vortexbuicks-etc.com/index.html
http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/electrical/wiring.html
http://www.ihadav8.com/forum/index.php - This is another great Buick site with many knowledgeable members
http://www.docdatabase.net/more-1986-87-buick-g-body-340514.html - This PDF only runs in Window IE, all other can use this site, lower right side you can open and run the PDF files.

Where are you located Steve? I'd be happy to help getting that engine back to proper order. I have the RPO decoded with all the options for that car.

Glad you got it fixed , I found out years ago a lot of problems with cars was people problems created so its always a good idea to check behind their work in solving problems just like what you had .Much like Paul Harvey now the rest of the story , Good day !

I noticed a lot of things. First and foremost you need to be able to see data so find a scanmaster or a powerlogger. That car has been running the way you have it for more than 5 years. It needs a thorough run through. I'd check those shocks in the back. See if they hold air. If not, put that on your list or you'll be bouncing off the snubber. Check for end play on that old turbo as well. I'd pull the intercooler and clean it out. Get rid of the oil vapor recovery on it too. Cap off the port on the compressor housing and put a filter on the pass. side valve cover.

Thanks im gonna go threw the car this weekend. And those will be the first things i do. I had to put a fuel pump in it already too. What does Getting rid of the oil recovery do?
