Hello all, been reading around and finally decided to get registered today.
I've been wanting a G-body for along time now. I currently own a 98 Regal GSX and my daily driver the 88 Lesabre T-type that i just did my first motor swap on. being only 22 i thought this was a great accomplishment! Im looking for a project car to work on. mainly a turbo regal, must have console shifter. Dont care on color.

Anyways just wanting to say hi!

Baileyville. I work in Seneca. My GN has been at the Seneca car show every year.

Back in `03 or so I met a younger guy with a lesabre t type at a car show at sac & fox casino. Had all kinds of information about the fwd t types and such. May have been you? Anyway I can probably help you find a car and avoid some new guy pitfalls.

Yeah johndeeregnless and I pretty much live here, though he is a much bigger post whore than I.

(using my whisper voice) He lives out there in central/western kansas where there's nothing to do but watch the hoot owls f*^% the chicken hawks, and that got to his head and made him a nebraska fan.

Anyway, there's a couple of members here from st. joe, and a few from topeka/lawrence. Topeka guys have a barbecue every year so you should attend that.

Give us an idea of what your budget is and we can steer you toward the best project for you.

LOL Drinking already I see hahahahaha:biggrin: BTW the Starlight Motel in Seneca is my home away from home as is the Windmill Lounge. Amanda will make you a strong drink if you ask nice:biggrin:

Sweet, i didnt know there were get togethers around here.
Sac and fox Casino huh, thats just past Fairview on the way to holton. I may have met you..hmm i dont know anyone else in this area that owns a Lesabre T....Just me and my dad that i know of. Both White '88 T-types.
Unless its someone that doesnt drive it much...i have not seen one and i've owned my Lesabre since my freshman year in highschool.
For a budget Im looking for Regal T-type, dont care on color, really wanting the console shift and bucket seats must still have motor dont care if its running, but I want the rear end to be good. Can be some surface rust but nothing that requires replacing panels....
My budget...hmm i should look at selling my 98 Regal GSX because i doubt even for a good running fast car like this everyone thinks its a granny lookin car and noone would trade even if its for a non running regal that needs paint and much work...I've always wanted a GN but the White Regals with blackout trim just really catches my eye!
Maybe i'll see you guys around this area sometime. But yea if you guys here of a broke down Turbo Regal or Gn in the area hit me up! Truthfully i'd like to trade my GSX for one outright, as i just bought a house and am ganna be broke ;)

I know of a NICE GN in Seneca that a guy is looking to get rid of.

Hey it's not officially on the market yet!!

You are giving away "secret" information, and it'd be a pity if someone else got it out from under you. Slip of the lip will sink your ship you know. :)

Besides, when the word "project" is used it leads me to believe that it might be out of his budget.

But I think you are on the right track and have your priorities straight with your budget. Little to no rust, but complete though it may need some mechanical work. If you have to scrape some cash to buy a bit nicer car than a basket case it could pay off. If all else is right I wouldn't put TOO much emphasis on the floor shift, it can be converted later for a couple hundred bucks. Most are floor shift anyway though. You do know that 85 and older are non intercooled, right? Also on a tight budget you'll need to be cautious with t-top cars. Most of them that spent any time outside have rust issues. Unless you drive to arizona to get it.

The guy I met at the casino was a young guy with his father, don't remember if the car was white or not.

You ****tin me? How nice because Nice Gn's go for alot and my 98 regal is probably only worth 7500. so I think all my regal can get me for a trade strait up is one that needs some body work and paint and maybe even a motor or tranny...

If you can get $7500 out of your car, it will get you way more than a money pit project in these times. If you stay with an 86-87 t-type, it will get you a running and driving stock or lightly modded vehicle with ok (probably original) paint and only minor fix it work needed. Probably between 100 and 150K on mileage and a 7-8 out of 10 interior.

The car Ty is talking about is mine. $7500 wouldn't touch it, but you wouldn't have to do anything to it once you had it.

You should have bought this:
http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/cars-sale/264462-f-s-1987-gn-w-front-end-damage-4k-kansas.html

Actually, I should have bought that. To hell with the wife, she would have gotten over it.

Whenever there is another car show or any get togethers around here post it or PM me! i'd like to start attending these things even if its still in my 98 regal ;)
I'll own a TR someday...i really want to build a garage/shop before i get another car though.
So yea just PM me if there is anything going on this spring or summer!

Andrew Jones

I'm not real good about that, I've missed the last two topeka barbecues because I didn't see the posts here with the dates......

I'm at the seneca car show every year. Big cruise night the evening before, also some good poker runs going on. I'll send you a private message or something when they are near. I may or may not own a turbo buick by the time summer gets in full swing though.
