Looking for Info on Mease Performance

i would not pick-up the car until the motor and parts are back. If you must pick-it up, I would go there on a monday, if you go on sunday he can claim that the shop who has the engine is closed, i would go during a work week that way he can't try to give you an i don't know story in front of a policeman ( bless those who are stepping up-they should know what a stage-2 looks like ) that way you can ask him to call whom-ever has the engine or to provide you with the address to the location, if he gives it to you go and check to make sure the engine is there or at least call them and inform them that you will be picking up the correct engine with the police. ( which if it's a stage-2 engine is it's worth quite-a-bit.

I'm with tjthorson, i would not pick-up one without the other, he may be legally off the hook if you take possesion, he could claim you took the car knowing it had no engine, remember think and prepair for the worse, your going out there to pick up a car, you have no way of proving that you did not get the engine that belongs in that car, is he willing to sign a written statement? to that effect? I see it as too much of a risk, this is an important item for you and your family, don't leave any stones un-turn'd
i would ask him to have the engine and the car ready during the work-week
inform him that the police will be with you to pick-it up and they know that
THEFT is when a person Knowingly obtains or exerts unauthorized control over the property of another, with intent to deprive the owner of his or her property; -Thats the LAW, if he is trying to deprive you of the emgine which is well over the usual $500 then it's consider'd grand theft. remember he's trying to deprive you by not telling you where the engine is ( not just a phone number- which he'll give you that but it will lead to no-where) I know it may be hard but picking up the car with out the engine does'nt really make sence. here's NJ's website hope you can find some site's to use. good luck, if you where in south florida, i would have been more than happy to ask one of my family members ( who are cops ) to help me retrieve your car and engine. To those guys who are helping out- GOD BLESS YOU GUYS!!
i would like to know who you are, you guys need to be saluted for doing the right thing, I'm also willing to help out with gas money for you guys.
please keep us posted.

Is there an update today? Did you get the car? I'm not alone I'm sure when I say I'm really hoping this turns out and you get this resolved. I can't imagine how I'd handle this in your situation, probably badly is how.

they got the car back !! quot from "NJBuickRacer" (Artie)
Car is in Liz's possession now. Most of the parts were recovered except the Stage shortblock which is supposed to be picked up in 2 weeks. The shortblock deal is documented by the local LEO who escorted us in his police report. The car was more complete than expected, surprisingly.

great to see they made some progress !!!

Update on Keith Mease

Sorry for not posting last night, but came from a very long emotional day. I do have possession of the car and some of the parts Eric gave to Keith. He still owes me the engine, but everything was documented by the Police and verified by my good friend who knows the parts Eric gave to him.

He has two weeks to turn it over to me or we will go to court. He will not tell me the name of the machine shop so I won't have a choice except to sue him if he doesn't turn it over to me.

It was a long trip and Eric's two friends, Brad and CJ drove me there and back and supported me through the whole mess. They are true friends and I cannot thank them enough. They even treated me to dinner afterwards!!

I can honestly say I finally can see why my husband loved the Buick community after meeting Wayne (WDunfee) yesterday who has never met me or Eric but came just to support us because he lives close by. A truly amazing man....it's people like him that restore your faith! People can be good! He even had problems with his Grand National in Pennsville and his wife had to come get him so he could go get his trailer to bring his car home and didn't complain once!! Wayne, I don't know what to say. You could never know how much it meant to me that you went so out of your way!!

Another friend of my husband's, Artie, met us there just for support. Took his Sunday afternoon away from his family just to support me. Another great guy that makes you realize how good people can be!!

So we will see how things go in a couple of weeks (one can only imagine). Thank you to everyone who has posted their support and kind words!!

Liz, it was nice to meet you, Brad, and CJ yesterday. Im sorry I couldnt have helped out at Keith's, but I stayed with Wayne's GN. It picked a terrible time to have the fusible links dissintegrate... Im glad to see you got the car back and most of the parts. I just hope you get the Stage motor back.

Artie even got us back on the road, after fixing the GN in the parking lot in Pennsville. A truly nice guy as well.

If you need anything, just ask. Wayne and I arent far and I dont mind helping out anyway I can.

Scott

Not a problem Liz.. Good to meet you, Artie, Brad and C.J. All in all, Things turned out better that I could have imagined.. Stuff was there, just didnt do any work..Anytime you need to do this again, just call.. Almost everything there.. Now you have more than a memory.. And we found the car at the corner of Hook Rd.[rt 40] and Sunset in front of a 2 car garage with about 4 impalas there too.. Easy to find..And my car problem was fixed with a quick trip to pick up up some fine china parts and tools.. Artie has a new love.. THANKS ARTIE.. I owe you dinner or lunch next time we meet.. Pics are too large to load here.. Cant figure how to resize.. I ll try Turbobuicks.. If it works, someone put a link up.. Thanks..

I know i'm posting late here but Liz i wanted to send you and your boys my condolences, and also tell you how glad i am to hear that you have the car and most parts back.
I was a 2-time customer of Erics, once in Jersey and back in December at the new shop. Both times i was happy with the work performed, and found Eric to be a good man. I was really looking foward to dealing with him with future business and getting to hang with him at the track. Maybe one day in the future we'll get to see the boys running dad's car down the track. Take care.

Liz no need for thanx- it was my pleasure! I hope to be making the trip back in a few weeks to get the rest of the parts. Anytime you need help just let me know! Artie, Wayne, and Scott- your all standup men! CJ

Liz...I'm sooo glad that you got Eric's car back!!! :D I hope that you'll eventually get the engine back so that with the help of those great "Buick friends" you'll be able to put it back together and running again!
It would be great to see some pictures (if you or someone took some...) of that day when you picked up the car...Are you going to keep it at your house for now?... I were you, I'd put it together, restrore it, maybe drive it once in a while. And if for some reason you don't feel like driving it, then STORE IT, (but for heaven's sake...KEEP IT!...Do NOT sell it...)...Your kids will be so thankful in the future knowing that it is the car their dad drove well into the very low 10's maybe 9's...This car has a lot of "history" both in the Buick racing world as well as in your personal memories...it's a "keeper" for sure!...

Please, keep us posted, and again, I'm very glad for you that the car's finally back home!

Take care, regards,

Claude.

Pics up on Turbobuicks.com ..Should have taken more of what turned out to be a very good day..

Keith Mease

One week and counting until he is supposed to return the rest of the parts to me.......Once again, thanks for all the support.

Eric always sponsored the Buick Performance Weekends at Englishtown. We sponsoring the event on August 30-31st. Even though he won't be there, I will be there on Sunday and a good friend of ours is racing one of his cars.

Hope to see you all then.

Update on Keith Mease

So it looks like I am going to have to take Keith to court. After several attempts to reach him this week to get a date of when we could pick up the engine that he claimed still needed work, I finally reached him and he said he would give me the engine, but not the cylider heads and intake manifold. So here we go again! I don't have the time or the energy to deal with this anymore, so I will let the lawyers handle it! thanks again to everyone for their support and will let you know what happens. Sorry for your trouble's Liz, surely there are some board members close that could help persuade this loser for you in a face to face visit.;)

I am also looking for this guy. The email Liz has bounces back to me. Any way to get ahold of Liz? Mease owes me about $20,000 or an impala with a turbo motor.
