Don't know anything about the allure but if it's between the impala and the malibu i'd take the impala. Better looking, more room and less "tin can-ny". Unless the malibu is much cheaper and you really don't need the space. But if you were going that route then hell get a cobalt or a g6 or something. I tend to like the ride and drive of bigger cars. Just my opinion of course.
We sell GM program cars where I work. I've driven them all, I've seen what they sell for at the auctions. If you were going to stick me with a late model GM car it would be an impala LT. Some color combos with the aluminum wheels aren't even considered ugly, which is quite a feat for a FWD car. The black cloth interior looks beautiful when cleaned up properly. Buick lacrosse is a fancier, smoother, quieter version of the same car if you need it, but chevy did a good job of making a cheap car not look/feel like a cheap car. Check the alignment on day 1 regardless of what the tires look like.
