Is there any trick to keep the sock on a fuel pump?

I am trying to install the Racetronix 340 fuel pump and everytime I put it through the hole it falls off, I got it through once and before a spun the retainer I picked it up to double check it, and sure enough it was lying at the bottom of the tank. I am afraid even if I get it in attached it will fall off anyway. Thanks in advance for any help.

Press it on firmly. It shouldn't move. Try another fuel sock if it doesn't.

thanks Geoff, I pressed firmly as the instructions said, but still no go, The instructions are not clear on how much the 3" fuel line goes on the tube, would that make a difference? I left about a 1/4" space from the top. also, the teardrop rubber seal seems not to sit right.

Take A Hammer And Lightly Tap The Sock Onto The Pump,the Teardrop Seal Must Be Into The Grove On The Hanger,or It Will Cause The Sock To Come Off.
