Hurt Locker

Oh it's kickass alright. Probably the best movie I have seen the entire last year.

I agree.

If you have a home theater with a huge sub you will enjoy it that much more. Those guys have balls of steel!
 
great movie

one of the best, no ca-ca that any bomb tech has ball of steel, more like titanium. i wanted to see this movie real bad and when it came out it was limited release and i actually had to go to arlington to see it. only 2 theaters showing in in the dfw area by the time i got to see the previews. regardless i'm a war movie buff and this is better then most. not sure which i like better but my hats off to any vet who goes through war. makes you appreciate your freedom alot more when you get into a movie like this and know there is someone who actually lives this everyday.
 
I thought the movie was okay at best. It was hollyweird meets Iraq war... the plot was one big cliche and very predictable. No one in war likes a cowboy or a hero. The guy got his buddy shot because he was a deuchebag, and then he went Hawaii-50 by himself out into indian country. Failed to follow orders, risked his teams life, got his guy shot...and on and on and on...I give the movie a 4 out of 10...

that depicts the war in iraq and afghanistan, i've never been in the military but you still have to give it to those who put their lives on the line everyday. the mentality that you have after going through anything close to that gives you a 1st hand look at what you may encounter in that situation. sure you may not think the movie was all that and that's your opinion but to know that there are guys who put their lives on the line for our freedom makes you respect the uniform and what any vet went through. too many of us americans take our freedom for granted that too many before them gave up. not trying to start anything but it just gives you a look through someone elses eyes and what they may have gone through.

LoL.... it wasn't a documentary. It was a Hollywood movie. As far as getten his buddy shot isn't that some of the things that would unexpectedly happen in a war? I'm not saying its a good thing but a reality of war. Goin off into Indian country was probably a little over the top I agree tho.

Actually most do like hero's that's why it's a movie and so popular.

As far as being predictable that could not be further from the truth. How many times did you think those IED's were gonna blow up in the guys face? Pretty much everyone he disarmed I thought one was gonna go off and didn't. That's not predictability, that's a guy with skills doing his job efficiently.

Did you think a towel head sniper was gonna take out (3) special forces soldiors? Unlikely but has happened many more times then that over there on many occassions.

I'm not sure there was anything predictable about that movie. In fact, I would say the complete opposite as far as predictability.
 
OK Im going to kick you in the dink.

Movie was ok, watched it sunday and it had me thinking all day today.
Watching the movie, i liked some characters, but there was barely any interaction, no flashback on character until the end of movie ONE ONE GUY,... What a waste.

Sad no Love no Sex no Drive no this movie had nothing to keep me watching it, when i watched it, i was done.... had no idea of character names, nothing to keep talking today at work. Many movies (black hawk down) 10x better than this movie, and both were 2 hrs long.
So many war movies, so many better than this. No characters that i know in other movies.
Good movie over bad movie, would i buy it to watch again? Nope.

It wasn't a love story and it wasn't a porno.:rolleyes: It WAS a true depiction of what a few soldiers with balls of steel do over there so others soldiers don't get blown to pieces while completing their missions.

Not all good movies are about action or sex. Unforgiven is one the best Western movies ever made and 90% of that was down right boring.
 
it was a good movie but a poor dipiction of what the field work is actually like.

that type of IED work way out of date. its all done by electronic attack now. pre-det, jam, detection, etc etc and has been for most of the war. so its more of a glory and guts kinda pitch then what is actually going on over there.

It should have been :) When he called his wife back in the states, they did not show who it was... All we could hear was here voice,... and when i heard her talking i knew it was Kate from Lost.

She is dead sexy :) Evangeline Lilly

It was a ok movie, if she was in it more, then i might watch it again :)
