GM 4.8 vs. 5.3

For those Chevy and GMC owners... is there a huge difference between the 4.8 and 5.3 motors? Would the 4.8 be enough to tow a GN or would it be overtaxed? I've been hoping to find a used Chevy or GMC with the 5.3 but it seems like everytime i find the perfect truck, it has the 4.8. Kinda turns me off cuz its suck a tiny V-8!

5.3 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have 5.3 and it tows very good, I have driven a 4.8 (not towing) and can feel a big difference in power, buy the 5.3, you'll never regret it!

I have the 5.3 in my GMC 4x4 and have no complaints. Definately go for the 5.3 over the 4.8.

No question a 5.3
I have one in my work van which weighs about 6300 pounds loaded. It is a dog. I do a lot of teeth gritting when I pull out in traffic, and also keep it to the floor quite often just to pick up speed to what I consider a normal rate.
We had a 03 Tahoe that had the 5.3 in it and loved it.
If you have to wait get a 5.3.
