Gas at $3.00 by summer!

that sucks, i heard it was going to go down, i read in the newspaper that the sent a whole lot more oil over here...

That is a load of crap. More hoaxes.

First of all, gas will NOT be $3.00 by the end of summer. Quote me, if you must.

The gas prices will continue to rise until the day the first barrage of bombs heads into downtown Baghdad. Then oil prices will PLUMMET. Watch how the economy works and don't get caught up in the hype.

Secondly - all the little mom/pop gas stations all get gas from the big boys anyway, so it doesn't matter who the sell it through - they are still selling it.

Really want to make an impact? Have you and a million of your closest friends drive alchohol or hydrogen fueled vehicles.....

I gotta get rid of my Trans AM. I paid 40 bucks yesterday to fill it with premium. ANyone wanna buy it? 7 grand takes it.

I JUST heard on the 11 o'clock news that gas is ALREADY over $3.00 in Sacramento, CA. And they went on to say in some places on the coast of CA it's at $3.29.

I wonder what C-16 will go up to.

my dad said that gas in east reno is hitting 3 dollars for 87 octane. i wanted to see for my self, but can't afford to drive around aimlessly like that anymore. i did see 2.17 for 91 octane in a lot of places.

Chris, VP already raised it's prices at the first of the year. I did not see an increase in Unocal 110. I use Unocal 110. In fact the Unocal 100 at the pump has come down in the last year from 5.19 to 4.99. I find that kinda weird. Seems like that 55 gal srum of 110 is getting more economical than the 91 at the pump.
Mr. Gn runs 110 straight up all the time.

Gas prices give me gas!

What Todd said about alternative fueled cars is coming.. get ready for it. Think what the towelheads will do when we cut our imports of their crude!!! Can you say camel burgers and crude oil shakes??
As for prices.. the price of gas certainly HAS NOT kept up w/ inflation!
In the 60's, a Chevy was $3500. Gas was .$0.60 for "hi test";)
Today, the price of that car has gone up 10X, while gas has gone up 5X, on the "left coast" anyhow... [Cept around Georgia.. premium is $1.70:eek: ]

Do the same comparo w/ a Big Mac... Gas CERTAINLY has not kept up w/ the other costs of living in the GOOD OL USA!!
I guess one could move to England and pay $6.00 for an imperial gallon.....or heaven forbid Canada.. but then why there, the parlimentarian bitch says she hates Americans, and we are bastards..

So quit bitchin and keep spinning the tires!!!

Back to drillin on my oil well!!:D :D

Its a nice thought guys, but you wont see anytype of mass marketed alternative fueled cars while you have 2 ex oil men in the white house. Heck, most of this crap going on in Iraq is because the oil companies want more control over the oil fields.
Even Desert Storm was to protect the oil interests in Kuwait.
I am sure there are people that have logical explanations for all of this. But the only people that gain from the sky rocketing fuel costs are people that have interests in the energy/oil industries.
Why do you think all that stuff with Enron went down. Its all about greed

i remember a couple years (probably when i was 13 or 14) that gas up in central florida was like 87 cents for 87 octane... why cant we go back to that... i would like that...

Who is in the Whitehouse has NOTHING TO DO with whether alternative fueled cars are viable. Gore plan was to SUBSIDUZE alternative fuels to make them viable. Taking your tax money so it appears you really aren't paying $3 per an equivalent gallon for alternative fuels.

Alternative fuels are ONLY viable if they are CHEAPER than gasolene. The president of the US could work for Exxon Mobil an have no effect on the price of alternative fuels. You can buy alternative fueled cars today. They cost 4X to run as an equivalent gasolene car, but you won't be buying any foreign oil so go for it

Socialism is the Number 1 reason gas prices are currently where they are. We get a HUGE percentage of our oil from Venezuela. Venezuela elected a socialist government that took money from the middle class and gave it to the unproductive poor. The middle class became pissed and are on strike. No skilled labor in the oil fields and refineries, no oil.

The simple thing to do is use less gas. You can by a 35 mpg sh!tbox for $2000. That's a WAY cheaper solution than the pipe dream of alternative fuels.

How come nobody complains about paying the equivalent of $20/gallon for brand name bottled water? Heaven forbid our cars ran on Evian.

Who pays for bottled water???? other than the poor folks who have contaminated wells. Perieor or what ever, was trying to install a pump in WI. and then sell it.People living their voted it down ...Thank the lord.
One of the nice things about the G.N. is that you can lower the boost and drive around on 87 octane. That is if it gets up to 4.00 bucks a gallon.

that is why the rest of the country hates CA, that place is so F'ed up. Premium is only $1.80 here in PA. I can't wait till Cali cracks off

Are you crazy? :)

If CA, the land of fruits and nuts, fell into the sea I'm afraid WA here would take it's place. Apparently Seattle now has the largest fruit population next to San Francisco....and our Governor is nuts.

Crude "could shoot as high as $50, $65, or even $100 in the months ahead."

Kevin Kerr, financial analyst at Weiss Research

$3.00 a gallon that was a low now it may even go higher. Time to buy a bus pass:( .

Are you kidding? My neighbor manages a restaurant in Memphis. She says that folks regularly pay $2.00 for 1 pint bottles of water. That's $16.00 a gallon! During business meetings, they go through cases of pint bottles. Mind you, Memphis is known for having some of the finest tap water in the country from the underground aquifers.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled gasoline thread. :p
