I have your audible knock detector and knock gauge on my GN.
The gauge appears to be OK (active tracks well with what I see on my OTC4000). However, the audible knock detector does not give any "chirps" or "short tones", only "long tones" when one or more red LEDs light on the gauge.
I confirmed this tonight with a 1/2" drive long extension, tapping on the back of the block near the knock sensor as you suggested. I tried every technique under the sun, single tap, multiple taps, fast, slow, hard, soft, driver's side, passenger's side - only a "long tone" when the gauge went red.
The gauge is properly wired - stripped, soldered, insulated, etc.
Do I have a bad audible knock detector?
Thanks for your help.
