I’ll throw this question out there , I have build going on with stock rods , so before resizing them I installed ARP # 123-6002 bolts , as it turns out these are about .200 longer than the stock bolts . As I found out too late that the shoulder right above the threads can and does contact the threads in the rod with damage to them . So has anyone experienced this ? I have since found that ARP now makes a shorter bolt , # 123-6001 .

I had no idea that ARP made two different lengths for the 3.8s. I've never noticed a choice when I buy mine. I'm guessing I have the 6001s since mine fit.

The only ''issue'' is that you have to countersink the clamping surface on the rod cap to account for the ARPs radiused shank.

The trouble was that when I bought the 6002 bolts in 2014 they were the only choice listed . After the caps were machined down (for resizing) putting the bolt should that is near the threads closer to interfer and crush the top threads .
But you are right about needing to countersinking the caps and I did that .
I hope others out there can learn something from my experience.
