Words aren't enough....

Every one of these treasured sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, husbands and dads had dreams and visions of their future. They surrendered their dreams for our safety. God bless them and their families in their sacrifice.
 
Thanks to each and every one of those soldiers.

We are damn fortunate in this country to have such brave men & women who volunteer to place themselves in harms way for the benefit of their country.

Let's keep them in our thoughts during our Independence Day celebrations next week. It's because of folks like these that we have an Independence Day to enjoy with friends, neighbors, cookouts and fireworks.
 
its the ultimate sacrifice. I work with a guy who is older (41) who is a retired military man. Has a family with 3 kids. He was called back and has been out of work away from him family over there for 5 months now. Hes a specialist. His wife did not work and now she has to sell the house because she cannot pay the mortage. We are helping her here at work by taking care of her house and getting collections up so that they can keep the house.. So far she has . But not sure how long. His kids really miss him :(
 
Think of what Kennedy asked...

"Ask not what your country can do for you... ask what you can do for your country"

I was talking with my g/f the other night about this very quote. It is really a true statement of what America is about. These brave men and woman answered this quote with the ultimate answer.

Makes me proud to be an American and grateful for the courage and bravery that people who are complete strangers to me are will to do for me.
 
Every time I meet a current/former U.S. soldier, I thank them for serving. Sometimes I think they feel I am being sarcastic, but I reinforce my gratitude as sincerely as possible. Their work and sacrifice is what keeps the rest of us free! I hope these families and friends know that there are MANY of us out there that do appreciate what their loved ones did/are doing.

May They Rest In Peace.
 
9000 replies? Bruce, you sure you have enough space on the server? You may need to run out and buy more hard drives but it would be for a good cause. I'm sure we have a few tree huggers out there that are against the war but from the Paltz family we can say we are proud and supportive. My neighbor across the street was a Marine reservist and after 9/11 he became a full time Marine. He's over in the sandbox now protecting our freedom.

God bless America and all the people that protect us!
 
I have friends over there right now as I sit here and type this....I sure hope they are doing alright...and realize we are behind them.....it's amazing they willingly choose to protect us...THEY are what makes america great...they hold us together....God Bless them and everything they do.....let them get home soon, and let us never forget those who have fallen.

I know exactly what you're talking about Falcon. It's pure luck (and Turkish politics) that I'm in Rota and not suckin sand right now, but a lot of my friends in our sister battalion and the battalion I was recalled to last year wern't so lucky...
 
I decided not to look at the posted thread, i just read the replies. It makes me sad, seeing my brothers of the military not being able to come back home to their families. But good at the same time knowing that i have the opportunity to be a part of this country and serve in the greatest AIR FORCE in the world. I know what i do day in and day out is important for everyone in this country, and not just me and my family.
