When it is on auto/auto fan @ COLDEST temp it blows good ........econ, defrost, bi level, heater, ect. Compressor comes on.
As i come off the coldest setting and start to raise temp blower slows down and temp does not rise to hot (heater) like it should. at first i thought it was lack of air volume but now i have confirmed the blower is slowing down. I can see the temp motor/accuator move with every single touch of the temp selector cold or hot. If I put fan on high (manually) it does the same.... slows down and somewhat warm.
Sometimes it will get warmer and blow like its on low but doesnt last long.

When coolant is cold it will come on after engine warms up like it should.
works great as long as it is set to coldest setting but I need heat here in Chicago. I remember AC worked good on all settings last summer and the system when on auto would control temp and blower.

T-stat, coolant, refridgerant are all good.

Do these symtoms lead to a failure prone component?

I also noticed tonight that the temp motor/actuator moves back and forth on it's own about a 1/4 inch with fan on high and heater selected on the panel, with temp in the middle of the range. If i go to the highest or lowest temp setting it stays put.
