I recently heard of a EGR valve replacement filter. What the heck is this? I know what an egr valve is, but where is the filter? Buick recommends a service interval of 30,000 miles. Here's a link:Filter - EGR Solenoid Valve

It's in the rear of the solenoid box, under the round cover that pops off.
The thing vents to atmosphere in operation.
Rear facing the firewall, the original is a paper filter with metal ends the replacement is a foam element.
Points deducted for sure at a concours event for the updated filter.
Although the originals turn to dust and crumble when you try to pull them out.
