My transmission had never been rebuilt, with 180,000. For the last 30,000 miles it would usually hang up in first gear, but not always, and I figured it was time for a rebuild. Car is pretty much stock. I got all my clutches and gasket parts from TRANSTAR, and a shift kit from TRANSGO which came with a billet servo etc. The shifting is awesome all up until full throttle shifts. It usually won't shift unless I back off the throttle to 3/4 or less, IN EVERY GEAR!! Occassionally it will shift a little earlier than it should from first to second, or second to third at WOT, but will never shift into OD at WOT.
So far i've tried: New governor parts(shaft, ball, spring)
A governor from a transmission that I know works perfectly, and the governor housing too
Adjusting the TV cable in every direction, that just makes it not downshift properly, still no shift at WOT in any gear!
I've over filled the tranny by one quart
3/4 throttle acceleration is fun for a while, but this one has got me and a few others stumped!!! Sticky valves??? Help please, thanks in advance
