Send Earl a PM, he will get back to pretty quick unless he has a harem of college girls and play toys at his house in the hot tub.

Will be making a video to post to show wear pattern on pump gears after prime
They are way off
Looks like a wobble socket
Also can some one tell me why you would mill a brand new cover where the cam button sits
Makes no sense to me
Thats where the water is

You have to mill that area for a few of the billet roller retention systems (like the webber and similar).

What does the rest of the cover look like? was the only scoring from the oil pump pocket?
Did you get anti freeze in the motor?

Pocket looks good
Filter adapter is
And looks not new.
Looks like it was sanded flat http://

First 4 are the main gear
U can see the pattern is way off
5th pic
The left is the gear from the eB cover
The rite is a factory gm gear
Notice the marking is on the top
Ive never seen this before ( maybe it was a repress )
They always face the bottom
Anyone else seen this before ?

I know that Dave uses Earls covers on builds on occasion but I don't know if he uses them exclusively.

I would call Dave since he built the motor and get some answers from him first.

The only person that can give you a warranty on that build would be Dave. Earl may help you if that is one of his covers but you need all the info from Dave on what was done and where the parts came from.

I hope it's taken care of regardless because it hasn't even been fired up yet and priming shouldn't cause that mess in the pics.

I have one of Earl's covers on the shelf and the only markings i see is a handwritten six digit # near the filter housing.
