Duttweiller motored T stolen

is the car usually on the lot and seen by many,or was it just park their for the 1day,just seems odd that 2 scum bags would happen to be in the mood/area to steal a particular car on the very day its left out...

I was thinking maybe joyride. Also the t was prob easiest to steal. Bit w the canceled appointment and non.existant # that sucks.. sorry to hear that

That vid just gave me that sinking feeling. Horrible. I'm so sorry. At least you have some camera footage to go on. I would definitely be following the cancelled appointment lead. It seems that For Sale TR's get stolen a lot.

With me,I'm so paranoid... Anti-theft devices nobody even thought of.. On top of that, many eyeballs watching my garage..and if anyone but me approaches, many people come out to find out what's going on. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I really hope you get your car back.

it was at a friend's autolot for a while and moved over at the shop and stayed there for maybe 2 weeks

it's really a shame as it's getting to be perfect on a street tune with the brand new 2.0 xfi ,drivetrain, and a dual BB 70q the converter was the last one to be tweaked i was also thinking of installing a ProEfi flex fuel ecu (e85 & pump gas) since our shop is a certified installer/tuner for it.

Dont know what to say except. . . That sucks. . . Lesson learned. . .dont leave ur shit out.... at least it was insured. . .

You should park another one out there and wait in your shop with a shot gun. My wife's best friends brother is a cop in Maple Shade. I can have her call him and maybe he'll let some other departments know. Sadly Camden and Philly are just around the corner but I would bet its still somewhat in the area.

It sure took them a long time to get in. Doesn't make much sense when the car can be slim jim'd in 2 seconds.

Very sorry for your loss. :(

Rick

Sorry for your loss. You can't have too many theft deterents on these cars. When I got my T which was a replacement for my stolen GN, I was surprised that it had nothing on it. At least guys, pull the inj fuse out of it to slow them down, and if I had to leave it unsecured overnight ( I lived in an apartment complex) I'd pull the ecm out of it and at least make the bastards get a tow truck. Hope you find your car.

I have personally seen this before: buyer coming tomorrow, having directions to the house. Next day, you and your buddies race bikes stolen- not covered. I learned to meet folks at a neutral public location. Will post for you- I wish you all the luck in the turbo world!

Cheapest insurance in the world pre paid cell phone hot wired to the car so the battery doesn't go dead and set to auto answer. If it ever gets stole call it and get the police to track it. So sorry for your loss. They will get there's. Someday.

Middle of the day n NO ONE saw it happen?? They take for ever to open the door then to make that turn they take for ever again.. Wooow..

I'd be all over the police to review any surveillance cameras in that area. There's got to be something on video of where that car is heading

Fricken' thieves! I hope you find out who they are. This is one reason I don't give out
my address ahead of time to c/list buyers ahead of time.....plus I'm "safe" when and
if they do show up to buy some parts(none buick items). Hope you catch them! :arghh:

In addition to all the tricks of disabling - which I won't explain to the thieves:

These - just for starters

Layers. All about layers

Not super cheap - but not super expensive
Laugh at alarms - but notifies you via smart phone app when the car is intruded - (saddle up)
http://www.viper.com/smartstart/product/vss5000/viper-smartStart-security-and-remote-start-system
Lots of other brands as well

Best of luck getting around this

CHEAP:
Laugh - but Install a club and a brake pedal lock just to slow them down after getting an alert from the alarm.
Yeah, yeah - we've all seen pros break them with freon in 30 seconds.
But they gotta have the freon and the tools on hand.
Slow down the amateurs.
Thieves get real nervous about taking time.

CHEAP - install time = 3 hours

Don't bother with the red one.

CHEAP - Install time in minutes
For road trips - throw the thing in the back of the trunk in a heavy plastic bin

Just an example - other choices

CHEAPEST:
Or this: (Much luck driving on 3 wheels)
This and a jackstand goes with me on every road trip.

Not cheap - One time install - but good luck getting a wrecker through them
Great piece of mind for the rogue wrecker
Install at the entrance or one in front of each car
http://www.grainger.com/category/bollards/access-barriers-and-crowd-control/security/ecatalog/N-hg8
Example only - sky is the limit for choices

If or When they get it
Tracking
To heck with cell phones
LoJack is yesterday
Dedicated purpose hardware (hidden)
Cheap upfront hardware + Very reasonable annual subscription cost -
Just plain works
http://www.escortradar.com/entourage/
Smart phone app
Notifies you when the car is moved
PM me for the tip on secret mounting if you're interested

And hey guys - start hiding vin tags in key areas.
They can easily re VIN a Regal car - but if it is Re-VIN'd and then recovered (less original engine or trans) - or worse - some scumbag trying to sell it as a whatever - there is only one place left that is damned near impossible to see the factory VIN. Won't say where.
Attach a homemade vin plate or couple to hidden areas.

I see it all the time.
1000's of dollars in go fast parts - nada in security.
Got to.
