Got an 06 Duramax last week. WOW this thing is nice. This is going to be my new street strip truck. It is a 4door crew cab with 57k miles...and BLACK!:biggrin:

I have an 06 also but mine is white, I really wanted a black one.

I added PPE programmer and Edge CTS (color touch screen) gauge monitor. Totaly different truck now. My cat converter was damaged and got ripped off and a straight pipe installed.

good job!! I have a 05 ex cab 4x4 Duramax gmc I bought new. has 146k on it now and still has the original brakes! its pretty much been problem free but now Its coming time to start replaceing oem stuff. Its lived with a 5th wheel behind it and never a tranny prob. keep up the mantainence on it and you'll be good to go.

I use my diesel 4X4 as my daily driver, it's got a 5l V10 with twin turbos from the factory. 21 MPG is average, 19 if I've been really bad:biggrin: Man I love torque Now if they would just stop gouging us on the fuel oil prices Diesel *should be* cheaper than regular, it costs less to produce and takes less refining steps.

Did the '06 Durmax have DPF's yet? I've read about lots of issues with them when the mods start piling up.

I love my '06. Just put the PPE tune in it at 180,000 miles. I wish I would have done it sooner. You can get them used on craigslist for $500. I got the Hot+2 for $450 and it's worth every penny. They should put the Allison trans in every truck.

My brother and father both have 05 crew cab 4x4 d maxes ... both have stacked tunes / exhaust and cold air intakes an haul ass. You wull love your truck. I got an 02 crew cab 4x4 8.1 gas hog 281k miles ... when it dies im getting a dmax

i've got an 04 crew 4x4 with 70,000,has been a great truck! i had the quadzilla steath 2 programmer with 135hp and it was a blast. i ran the crap out of it ,so i took it off so i wouldn't hurt the truck in the long run. it did get 22mpg with the 135hp tune. it gets about 16 to 18 stock. this has been by far the best truck i have ever had!
