I didn't read the whole thread but from the first few pages and last few pages it seems that they have a meeting this weekend at the dealership. The guy acually wants to own a different car than the one he won but he stole this deal and was willing to settle for this car. The dealer will make him a great offer on the car that he actually wants to own and both sides will walk away happy. Otherwise for him to go to court is a big financial risk, and if it gets hashed out in court forever the only happy ones will be the lawyers.
Hate the dealer all you want, but some dude is gonna lose his job over an honest mistake that the internet forums ran with.
