My question is how many pounds on the seat should i set them up at?

What i learned when i did my cam study and decision (Bullet cams) is if you want to shift at x RPM and control the valve train events, you need X amount of spring pressure...i think there was a mathmatical equation involved? but..long story short... my 212 flatty should, could make power to around 5800...(or at least with my combination)..so to control that, i was told 120 seat press. Thing is...not many will advise to put that load on the flat lobes...but IMHO ...it seems more of an issue to have the poor control of weak springs letting the lifter slap the cam face than keeping the lifters in full, constant contact with the lobe face. Also FWIW,Bullet suggested they cut more tapper into the lobes than others ....dont know alot about what others may do so...? I bought hardened face lifters... and run oil with plenty o zinc....i went with Valvoline VR1 20/50 and ZPPD. I keep a real close eye on my oil condition and an ear out for anything out of the norm. So far so good for me.
