T TurboBob Resident mad scientist Staff member Joined May 24, 2001 Jun 3, 2009 #2 depends on the configuration of your chip. The standard speed datastream chips will display codes on the Scanmaster. The fast update ones do not. If you have a fast update chip you can still read codes with the Scanmaster. You do it this way: key off, wait 10 seconds remove fast update chip and reinstall a stock style chip key on, do not start the engine, read codes on scanmaster key off, wait 10 seconds, remove stock chip and reinstall the fast update chip.
